I am a practice managment consultant for physicians and I always promote having a resource directory in their office or helping patients as part of their collections department. I LOVE THIS ARTICLE. I do not support asking a doc to discount his/her bill-(this is insurance fraud if they billed insurance and discounted after), but I would really like to see them help patients save money elsewhere.
