Medical & Legal QuestionsWhom should I contact if there is a legal or medical problem?If you have a medical concern or emergency, you should immediately contact 911 or your healthcare provider. If you have a concern with medical-related content on the Message Boards, you should select the Flag This Message link and send a message to the board administrator. For legal information, please fill out the Contact Us form.
Logging In & PostingHow do I sign in?You must first Create a Profile before posting a message. To create a profile, simply click the link to the right of the Message Boards, or, click Sign In at the top of any page on the Strength for Caring Website. Why do I need to create a profile?Creating a profile is simple and should only take a few minutes. We require a profile for all members of the Strength for Caring community. Doing this helps us avoid spammers (companies that post advertising messages). It also helps ensure that all members of the community understand our Legal Notice and agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth for our community. This helps keep things friendly and appropriate in our Message Boards. Why must I agree to the Terms of Use?Our Legal Notice indicate the rules and regulations for this community. Some of our rules include no spamming, marketing, or advertising on our Message Boards. We also require posters to avoid using profanity in all messages. Doing this helps ensure a friendly community. For legal reasons, you must be 13 or over to participate in our community, which is clearly indicated in our Terms of Use. Our Terms of Use helps protect the environment of our community, and helps make Strength for Caring a helpful Website. How do I change my Message Board name?You must Edit Your Profile in order to change your user name — the name that appears as your Message Board name. How do I recover a lost password?Go to the Login page and click the Did you forget your password? link. We will ask you for your username, and will send an email to the email address you used when you registered with us. If you have forgotten your username, please contact us. I cannot sign inDouble-check to be sure you entered the correct username and password. If you cannot remember your password, Go to the main Login page and click the Did you forget your password? link. If you have forgotten your username, please contact us. How Do I Post a Message?To post a message, you must first sign in to your Profile. Once you have logged in, simply select the Start a new message link in the Message Boards, or, reply to an individual message by selecting the button Add Your Comments. How do I edit or delete a message?You cannot delete any message once submitted to the site. You can edit a message by clicking the Edit link next to the relevant message.
Formatting & ImagesCan I use HTML?You cannot use HTML tags on the Message Boards. However, any Web addresses you enter (such as http://www.example.com) will be automatically hot linked. Can I post images?No, images are not enabled on the Strength for Caring Message Boards. What are "Bookmarks"?Bookmarks are messages that you want to remember. Bookmarked messages will appear in a list in the right column for easy access. To bookmark a message, click the "Bookmark this Message" link while viewing the message. What are "Sticky Messages"?Sticky messages are important announcements about the Website or messages that community members found meaningful. Sticky topics are set this way by the forum moderator or board administrator. What are "Locked Messages"?Locked messages are set this way by either the forum moderator or board administrator. You cannot reply to locked topics and any poll contained inside is automatically ended. What if I see an inappropriate message?Our Message Boards are monitored regularly. If you see a message that contains inappropriate content, you can alert the board administrator of it by clicking the Flag this Message link.
User LevelsWhat are Administrators?Administrators are people assigned the highest level of control over the entire board. The Strength for Caring administrators work for Strength for Caring's Website. An administrator may ask a community member to become a moderator and help foster a friendly environment on the Strength for Caring community. What are Moderators?Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) whose job it is to look after the running of the forums from day to day. They have the power to edit or delete messages and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material. Moderators may also start messages each day, answer questions from other members, or share stories. |
