My wife was diagnosed with colon/liver cancer about 2 months ago. She has a tumor the size of a golf ball on the colon and live where they meet. At this point the only thing theya re doing is giving her chemo therapy. This will go on for the next 6 months. I am the person that takes my wife to all appointments. This is including chemo. I have 2 daughters. The oldest drives and has 2 kids. She is their sole support. She has offered to help with the appointments. With kids I don't want her indangering her job. My other daughter is 29 and still at home. Helping on occaisions. She is not real consistant. The biggest issue I face is a possible loss of my job. With financial problems in the company they are looking at eliminating my position. This I have not told my wife! She doesn't need to worry. I don't have the option to change jobs while my wife is in treatment. If I am indeed laid off I will use unvested retirement funds to pay for cobra so my wife can continue her treatment without interruption. Thers my wifes and my story. We have been married for 32 years.
