When I returned home in 2003 my mother was not doing well. Her system was run down and she was hospitalized often. She in 2004 developed severe blood clots and it was either die or get well. This was all in God's hands. When placed in a rehab facility she regained her health but not out of the woods. The rehab took at home manny months with help from aids during the day and me th rest of the time. 2005 comes and she is doing better but the unthinkable happens her son passed away from complications with cancer. My family had just moved in to be there and we are still here minus daughter-in-law. My Mom has regained her health but again in 2006 hersystem went out of whack, this time her kidney's were needing help. The doctor put in rehab again and with change of meds road to recovery began and continues today.

This do not mean challenges and frustration aren't apart of our daily lives but the love and thankfullness is. You see my son and his wife had a son in 2006, he is a great part of my mothers will to continuing to live. Four generations together. Even though my daughter-in-law no longer lives with us she is still part of the family and continues to be there when she can. After all she is her grandmother also.

For myself who has given up work, home, financial security and yes, medical insurance as well. No pay but you cannot put a price on the smiles and love that is abound in our household today.

I take one day at a time and know that God is the director of this journey we are on together.
