Depression

Symptoms

 

Some of the more common symptoms of depression include:

  • Persistent sadness
  • Anxiousness, restlessness, or irritability
  • Decreased interest in activities
  • Decreased energy and persistent fatigue
  • Feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness or guilt
  • Difficulty concentrating, making decisions, or recalling everyday things
  • Insomnia, sleeping too much, or not at all
  • Stomachache and digestive problems
  • Sexual problems (decreased sex drive)
  • A change in appetite causing weight loss or gain
  • Thoughts of death or suicide or suicide attempts
  • Headaches and chronic pain
