High Blood Pressure

 

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Types

 

There are two levels of high blood pressure: Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Stage 1

Stage 1 high blood pressure occurs when the systolic (top number) is between 140 and 159 and the diastolic (bottom number) is between 90 and 99.

Stage 2

Stage 2 high blood pressure occurs when the systolic (top number) is 160 or higher and the diastolic (bottom number) is higher than 100.

Be sure to check with your doctor or other health care professional to get your blood pressure checked several times a year or more.
