OLD AGE

Types

Old age can affect people mentally and physically.

Physically, the body becomes more susceptible to illness. Bones and organs may become weaker and skin becomes dryer. Hair may fall out and the ears and the eyes may lose their strength. Mentally, the brain can lose cognitive function. This affects memory, emotion, language skills, and the ability to pay attention. Elderly people may also have difficulty digesting food, and may experience constipation.
