Treatment
Several treatments help reduce the appearance of skin conditions and uncomfortable side effects such as itching and scratching. Those with skin conditions should always go to see a dermatologist before beginning any sort of treatment. Dermatologists will prescribe different medications, including antibiotics and skin creams, to treat most skin conditions. Lifestyle changes including dietary restrictions, avoiding direct sunlight, and wearing only certain types of fabrics could also help in treating these various skin conditions. Those with certain skin conditions can moisturize their skin daily, take warm baths and showers, and wear clean clothing to help ease the symptoms. Before beginning any sort of moisturizing regimen, one should always consult a dermatologist, as certain moisturizers may contain ingredients that could irritate a condition. A dermatologist will determine whether or not a skin condition is caused by bacteria (such as a staph infection), is the result of a hereditary disease, or is the result of a short-term condition caused by changes in products. Some people may also have allergies to items such as clothing detergent or antiperspirants and may develop rashes as a result of their allergy. Please see a dermatologist for consultation about any skin condition and appropriate treatment. Resources/Sources:National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases G. W.
